Rules
Base Rules:
These are the core rules of the game (incomplete, please check back). These are enforced by the game's staff, and not the players (though reports by players are gratefully accepted).
1. Respect & Community (Zero Tolerance Policy)
Farvale is a shared world, and every player deserves to feel welcome. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for hate speech and severe harassment.
- No Hate Speech: The use of racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, or ableist language is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
- No Harassment: Persistent bullying, stalking, or targeted harassment of another player or guild is not allowed.
- No Doxing or Real-World Threats: Sharing the personal information of another player or making threats of real-world violence will result in an immediate permanent ban and potential report to relevant authorities.
2. Fair Play & Game Integrity
Your achievements in Farvale must be earned through your own effort.
- No Cheating or Hacking: The use of third-party software to modify the game client, inject code, or alter network traffic is strictly forbidden.
- No Botting or Macros: Automated gameplay scripts, auto-clickers, and AFK-farming macros are prohibited. You must be at your keyboard and actively playing while logged in.
- No Bug Exploitation: If you find a glitch that gives an unfair advantage (e.g., duplicating items, bypassing boss mechanics, or forcing a "fake death" to avoid PvP), you must report it. Abusing exploits for personal gain will result in rollbacks and bans.
3. Economy & Account Security
The in-game economy is a core pillar of Farvale.
- No Real Money Trading (RMT): Buying or selling in-game gold, items, or services for real-world currency is strictly prohibited.
- No Account Selling or Sharing: You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. Selling accounts or sharing login details is against the rules.
- No Scamming: While in-game trickery (like setting a high price on the market) is part of player commerce, actively defrauding players through UI manipulation or trade-window bait-and-switch exploits is not allowed.
4. Communication & Chat
Global chat is for everyone. Keep it readable.
- No Spamming: Do not flood the chat channels with repetitive messages, massive blocks of text, or excessive capitalisation.
- No Advertising: Advertising other games, private servers, commercial products, or illicit services (like boosting) in chat is prohibited.
- Keep it Clean: Avoid excessively vulgar language in global channels.
5. Identity & Naming
Your name represents you in the world.
- No Offensive Names: Character, guild, and pet names must not be offensive, sexually explicit, or reference hate groups.
- No Staff Impersonation: You may not use names that imply you are a Game Master, Developer, or Admin (e.g., "GM_Steve", "Admin").
Enforcement & Penalties
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be handled by the moderation team. Depending on the severity of the offence, penalties may include:
- Official Warning
- Chat Mute (Temporary or Permanent)
- Account Suspension (Temporary Ban)
- Account Termination (Permanent Ban, reserved for severe offences like cheating, RMT, or hate speech)
The Farvale development team reserves the right to evaluate incidents on a case-by-case basis and apply penalties at their discretion.
Player Rules
Beyond the core game rules there are rules created by the players, and enforced by player characters, or sometimes the Gods of the world.
